The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad hosted a workshop on the mechanism of applying the performance evaluation form for the academic year 2024–2025. The event was organized by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education, with the participation of quality assurance representatives from all university units.
The workshop addressed the evaluation files of the previous academic year and discussed mechanisms for their development in ways that enhance both academic and administrative performance quality.
In his speech, Prof. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, emphasized the importance of performance evaluation in monitoring academic activity and identifying strengths and weaknesses. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to applying quality standards and following up on their implementation across all colleges, reflecting positively on the overall level of higher education.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ali Khalil, Director of Institutional Performance Evaluation at the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, highlighted that the evaluation form is a key tool in fostering competitiveness among Iraqi universities and achieving the Ministry’s objectives of quality assurance and academic accreditation. He urged administrative and academic staff to adhere to the approved standards and document all activities and achievements with accuracy and transparency.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations stressing the need to unify evaluation procedures, promote experience-sharing among colleges, and improve the higher education environment in Iraq.
